The Product Photography Intensive
A 3-week hands-on course where you stop shooting product photos that look like everyone else's — and start creating images that sell. Studio lighting, composition, styling, and post-production from someone who does this professionally for real brands.
Core Skills
6 things you'll master
in 18 hours
Full Curriculum
3 weeks.
Zero fluff.
Every session is designed so you arrive, shoot something real, and leave with portfolio-ready images. No theory-only days. The studio is set up and waiting.
- What separates product photography from just "photos of products" — the mindset shift
- Light anatomy: direction, quality, intensity, colour temperature explained from scratch
- Natural light setups: window angles, bounce cards, diffusers — building your first studio on a budget
- Studio walkthrough: seeing the existing setup with fresh eyes, understanding what each element does
- Shooting exercise: photograph the same product 6 ways using only natural light
- Composition rules for products: 1/3rds, leading lines, negative space, visual entry points
- Styling vocabulary: surfaces, backgrounds, props, colour harmony in product scenes
- Brand tone through photography: how Mamaearth, Sleepy Owl & Forest Essentials use light differently
- Live styling exercise: build 3 product scenes using props in the studio, then critique together
- Camera/phone settings: exposure triangle, ISO discipline, manual white balance
- Artificial lighting types: continuous vs. flash, softboxes, ring lights, snoots, and when to use each
- Light ratios, fill ratios, and the 3-point setup for products — what changes when you add a source
- Controlling shadows and reflections: the hardest part of product photography, made systematic
- Shooting glass, reflective & transparent products — the techniques professionals charge extra to know
- Each student builds a controlled 2-light setup and shoots a full product sequence
- The 7 must-have product angles every e-commerce client needs
- Hero shots, lifestyle context, detail macros, and packaging shots — shooting for the full brief
- Shot list construction: working like a professional studio, not guessing on set
- Personalised feedback critique: each student pins their 6 best frames, group + instructor critique
- Building all variants: white background, lifestyle, flat lay, and detail — for the same product
- Lightroom fundamentals for product photography: exposure, colour, clarity, dehazing — in the right order
- Building a consistent preset: one look across your entire product catalogue, batch-applied in seconds
- Background removal, clipping paths, and retouching for e-commerce: when to and when not to
- Export settings by use case: Shopify, Instagram, Amazon, print, and white-label client delivery
- Client delivery workflow: folder structure, naming conventions, metadata, and watermarking policy
- Each student presents: brief → setup → selections → retouched finals — 5 mins + structured feedback
- Freelance product photography pricing: real rates per image, day rates, licensing, rush fees
- Proposal and contract basics: what to include, what protects you, how agencies handle revisions
- Portfolio case study: how to document, caption, and present product work on Behance and Instagram
- Certificate ceremony, open studio time, and one-on-one next-step conversations

Surbhit Krishna is the co-founder of Awesome Sauce Creative — one of Lucknow's most recognised branding and content agencies. Since 2019, he has led visual content production for clients across D2C, hospitality, real estate, fashion, and food — from Lucknow's local market to brands competing nationally.
He has built and directed product photography shoots for campaigns that ran across Amazon, Instagram, Swiggy, and Flipkart. The work he's overseen has moved product — not just filled feeds.
Frame & Light is built entirely from his actual shoot process. You're not learning from a textbook — you're learning the exact method used to deliver work that brands paid real money for.

What past students
actually said
I came in shooting my products with an iPhone and a ring light, wondering why they looked flat. After session 2 I understood why. After session 6 I had clients. The light knowledge alone was worth 10x the fee.
The post-production session alone changed my life. I used to spend 3 hours on one image. I now batch-edit an entire shoot in 20 minutes and the consistency across a catalogue is something clients notice immediately.
I manage social media for 3 brands and always had to fight with vendors for usable photos. Now I brief photographers properly and shoot the assets myself when needed. The shot list template is something I use every single week.
The freelance pricing masterclass was a revelation. I was charging ₹300 per image. One month after the course I closed a project at ₹2,500 per image — same equipment, different positioning and process.
I sell handmade jewellery and my product photos were the weakest part of my brand. Now people DM me asking who shot my products. It's me. On a budget setup. With skills I learned in 18 hours across 3 weekends.
As a final-year design student I expected theory. What I got was 3 weekends in a real agency studio, a complete portfolio shoot, and the confidence to walk into a client meeting and talk about light like a professional.
